My Senior Status Is Now Legit

School for Winter 2008 started off with a bang! I just got through my first week of school, and I think the semester is looking very auspicious. And I have only two semesters left!

My two marketing classes actually don't excite me too much--is that a bad thing? I'm really excited about my history class, though, because I feel like this is the first history class I'll learn something in. The professor has been to all the places we talk about (and multiple times) so the pictures and stories are all really interesting. My preparation for marriage class is going to be . . . interesting. I have to work hard to get an A in that class! Ask boys out and do awkward things--I'll do it just because I want the grade, but my oh my this is going to be embarrassing. You get points in the class for holding hands on the first date, whispering for 30 seconds in someone's ear, staring at someone for 10 minutes straight 12-18 inches away, asking someone to date exclusively for 14 days, walk up to someone in a line and give him your phone number, and other ridiculous things. Let's think about this; I'm probably the worst person to do these things! I'm so shy. Ahh I need help. Lastly, I'm taking volleyball and beginning social dance. Volleyball is going to be intense! I signed up for intermediate, and the players in there are a lot better than I expected. I was hustling to look like I knew a thing or two about volleyball. It's going to be fun, though. There are boys in the class, so I'm happy that I actually get to eat a bit of the ground as I dig their hits. It was sad when I tossed the ball three times for one serve and then missed getting it over the net when I finally took the plunge on the third toss. Good luck to me! And I realized in dance that I should have taken a dance class much sooner than now because it's so fun! The tilt-your-head-up-and-slightly-to-the-left position is kind of tricky, but I'm having a good time dancing with the somewhat awkward boys.

I moved into a new bedroom, and it is humongous! I'm really stoked about this, as you can tell. For a year and a half now I've been cooped up in a teensy bedroom with another girl, but now we have the master bedroom with the walk-in closet that serves as another bedroom.

Speaking of bedroom and . . . sleep . . . (because that's what I was talking about and everything ;)) I had a dream last night that we were driving in the Big Body (the name of our Expedition) and we got pulled over. "What's the problem officer?" "You're getting a ticket for having laptops open while driving in the car." Turns out you can get pulled over and ticketed for being on your laptop in the car. Stacy and someone else were the culprits, and I remember being really ticked off for getting a ticket like that. The point of this story is to announce that I'm going to start a dream diary (even though I've been telling myself this for about a year now). But really, I think my dreams are hysterical, yet I forget them so easily. If you ever want to hear a funny dream, I should be able to whip one out of my journal soon. Hopefully I actually keep one this time!

Well, it's good to be back.

First of all - Do you know this Douglas? Douglas, I'm Katy's sister and I would appreciate it if you didn't comment on my blog ;)

Anyway, you're so funny! I can't believe your marriage professor is that tacky!! AND I think your dream diary should be kept on this blog. AND I think that picture of you is so kitchy-cute!

kitchy-cute?

I mean....

Dear Kari,
you said you were going to read Katy's blog everyday, so I thought you'd read her comments each day as well!

I liked the computer story. I'm sorry I had my laptop open in the car and that you got a ticket...
