PR

Colorado

I just spent an amazing five days in the land of Parker, Colorado. I visited Jordan (or Jordo, as I like to call her now thanks to her friend Kendria) at her very own mountainous home, and I must say that I was very impressed. What you may not know about Jordo, but may so venture as to guess, is that she is a gifted decorator. Her apartment is absolutely stunning, adorned with framed collages, warm-colored walls, inviting couches, beautiful frames and photos, and excellent decorations. I had my fair share of fun as we went to the Denver Zoo (which has many different animals from the Ft. Worth Zoo); the IMAX where we watched "Ghosts of the Abyss: Titanic;" her dental friend's house for Sunday dinner where we played Guitar Hero with the boys and several games of Nerts with the gals; watched movies (Transformers turned out to be surprisingly good! Popcorn = blehh); went to eat at the local restaurants!; and went to eat at the in-laws. Unfortunately I did get sick the night prior to going to Colorado, so my vacation was also accompanied by a trip to Urgent Care. As a matter of fact, Urgent Care of Parker called me a few days ago to ask me how I was doing--it's too bad that (a) I'm in Puerto Rico and (b) they didn't even help me while I was at their clinic! The trip was fabulous, Colorado is absolutely beautiful, Jo and Quin's condo is amazing, and I was overjoyed to see my sister Jordan. Thanks for the wonderful time, Jordy. :)

There I am with the silly elephant. I'm sure it's perfectly normal, but this little guy kept picking up dust with his trunk and swishing it on himself. It was truly a sight to behold as we watched him to it for quite some time.

Surely not one of my more flattering poses, but this little guy was so dang cute that I just had to mimick him. Look at his little monkey friends in the back just chillin' on the glass. So cute!

How about we just let it out in the open like adults; I look absolutely disgusting in this picture! I promise I had just eaten an Icee.

I wonder if I would be allergic to this little man because I am allergic to cats. I suppose I'll never know because I wouldn't dare going near that thing.

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico--the land of tropical rainforests, salty ocean and sea, humid atmosphere. I just spent nine days in Puerto Rico with my dad and mom, and it was beautiful. We went to church two Sundays, and they have no AC in the building; it made me really appreciate the air conditioning we have in the states because by the end of church, my skirt had blown up five times and my face was melting off.
We went to the rainforest, the beach, a baptism, a fireside, the movies, the pool, and shopping--but of course. It's very new to me to be the only child with the parents on vacation; I'm so used to being the little one who gets to sleep on the floor of the minivan and never chooses what to do each day, but this, this was the first of what could be many daughter-parent vacations.
I'm going to help Dain and Malinda paint. Pictures to come.

Thanks, Kates! You've been busy - I only wish you were in Provo now because I'll be driving through at the end of the week. See you in Padre!
